The JAS Group came into existence over 20
years ago. Since then the JAS Group has become
the largest Air Freight Forwarding company in
Italy and is in the top 10 in Europe.
In 2000 the JAS Group's aggregated turnover was
in excess of USD 500M.
JAS now has more than 110 offices in over 40 countries
worldwide, together with exclusive agents in other
countries where it does not have its own presence.
The Group has evolved through distinct phases
which can be summarised as:
Covering the first decade. An orientation from
Europe to the Far East, with JAS taking a dominant
market share in the inbound market to Japan from
Europe.
The late 1980's and 1990's saw the emergence and
establishment of the network in China, USA, and
South America, permitting a truly global presence
and more evenly balanced trade flows over the
3 major trading zones of Europe, the Americas,
and the Far East. In addition the JAS Group invested
in a series of physical logistics facilities in
key gateway hubs to service its own operations.
The new millennium sees the consolidation of these
2 first phases, utilising the new facilities and
emphasising on gateway traffic through major hubs.
The Group's capabilities are being continually
enhanced through the use of multi-lingual web
based electronic commerce and 'Straight Through
Processing'.
